Short Pump Town Center
Henrico County, VA
Short Pump Town Center is a 147-acre, high-end, open-air retail center in Henrico County, west of Richmond. The center contains 1.3 million SF within the core, surrounded by mixed-use out parcels at its perimeter. Four major retailers new to the Richmond marketplace anchor the center.
McKinney and Company served as a local team member along with the developers Forest City Commercial, Pruitt Associates, LLC, TVS Architects and K.A. Inc. Architects to provide a full range of planning and civil engineering services for land acquisition, development strategy, zoning assistance, conceptual design and civil site design. McKinney was the civil engineer of record and assisted with construction management services and site inspections. Additionally, McKinney staff coordinated numerous aspects of this development with local government officials to include signage, landscaping and fire and building code issues.
The project reflects a truly collaborative effort on the part of McKinney and the other team members which included county officials and regulatory agencies, the site and general contractors and the numerous architects representing the design teams of Short Pump Town Center’s major tenants
