Hanover County, Virginia

The terminal is comprised of two x 500 ton dry cement silos located adjacent to a rail siding. Dry cement is brought to the terminal by bulk cement rail cars, which are staged over an unloading conveyor system for transferring cement powder by means of a blower and bucket conveyor system to the silos. Bulk cement road carriers are driven under the silos and filled by gravity. The cement powder is transferred from the terminal to the ready mix plant for manufacturing concrete.

McKinney and Company was responsible for site due diligence studies and geotechnical engineering followed by site engineering, structural and electrical engineering.

McKinney and Company also served as the General Contractor on the project, which included the rail siding and co-ordination with the silo and material handling supplier.
